Sometimes something comes along in your life which makes you sit up and take notice – enter the EKO Edison bin with elegant flush-to-wall silhouette and an ultra-matte finish
There are certain things you resent buying as an adult but know you have to. Coat hangers. An ironing board. Cutlery. Toothpaste.
These are the things your mum and dad always got, it’s their job. You got to splash the cash on something more fun. Like a remote controlled flying helicopter, a new biker jacket or 12 pints.
But after moving into a new flat there was one thing I knew was vital to the whole operation – a nice bin. While that sounds like a chore, a good trash barrel does conceal a myriad of problems.
The key is not to scrimp on your rubbish receptacle. Like I did on the coat hangers, ironing board, cutlery and toothpaste. I picked up an EKO Edison – available for the sum of £129.99.
Now that may sound a lot, but this is a heavy-duty, full stainless steel recycler with an elegant flush-to-wall silhouette and an ultra-matte AND fingerprint-resistant finish. Believe me, I’ve put that last bit to the test on a number of occasions. And just as well as I’ve bin asked to do a review of said receptacle, which is a first for my journalistic career, but how could I refuse? (There a few little bin-based joke for you there).
It’s got TWO (count them) 30L compartments, one for normal rubbish, the other for recycling… if you’re into that sort of thing. The soft-close lid is what we won two World Wars and one World Cup for as it ensures quiet and gentle closure without slamming. Gone are days of me slamming a bin in disgust, I tell you.
Additionally, there’s a stay-open lid function which gives you hands-free convenience when needed, making it ideal for tasks that require continuous access.
The durable cantilever foot-operated pedal mechanism ensures long-lasting performance, providing smooth and reliable operation with every use. There’s a plastic bag stabiliser which keeps everything in place and is easy to take out so you don’t get covered in FFC gravy, Pot Noodle remnants and Rustlers’ boxes. If you should eat said items.
Which of course I do not. Something I do though, is swear by this bin.
My life is now separated neatly into two distinct eras. Before the Edison Pedal Bin 30+30L and after it. And I think we all know which part of my life is the better…
