Easyjet confirmed that some passengers were “met by police upon landing in Alicante” due to “disruptive” behaviour after families were left horrified by the drunken antics of two people onboard
A drunken couple left Easyjet passengers horrified after they revealed to a packed plane full of families they were “joining the mile high club.”
Shocked passengers onboard an EasyJet flight to Alicante from Luton airport last Friday night (August 8) were left in disbelief after what they said they could hear from the toilets. A member of cabin crew desperately tried to get them out of the small toilet to put an end to their drama.
According to those on the plane, the couple told others onboard that they were not married, but had children from previous relationships. It is alleged that the couple had a lot to drink before the incident, and shared plans to sleep on the beach upon arriving.
One passenger, who was travelling to meet family, said: “They were making lots of noise in their seats and the woman appeared pretty drunk.
“But she kept asking for more drink. A cabin crew member suggested she should have coffee but she screamed ‘I’m not having coffee!’ and asked for more alcohol. Then the woman was shouting out to other passengers ‘I’m going to join the mile high club.”
Then, it’s alleged the drunk woman tried to vomit into one of the bin liners for general waste that the cabin crew were using to collect rubbish, MailOnline reported.
The passenger added: “They asked her to use a sick bag and she rushed to the toilet staggering and nearly knocking a child over.
“Once she was in there, she shouted out to her boyfriend his name and was calling out to him ‘I need help, I need help. He went in and they locked the door and soon all sorts of loud noises and grunts and groans started.
“I was right nearby but most passengers could hear it and it was awful in front of so many kids.”
Eventually, cabin crew had to tell the police, and upon landing, the couple were met by airport authorities and arrested on the runway.
An easyJet spokesperson said: ‘We can confirm that flight EZY2317 from Luton to Alicante on 8 August was met by police upon landing in Alicante due to some passengers behaving disruptively onboard.
“Our cabin crew are trained to assess all situations and to act quickly and appropriately, to ensure that the safety of the flight and other customers is not compromised at any time.
“We take these incidents seriously and do not tolerate disruptive behaviour onboard. The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is always easyJet’s highest priority.”
