Three people have been arrested after a months long police investigation following the burglary of Brad Pitt’s LA home, after a spree of celebrity break in’s
Three people suspected of breaking into Brad Pitt’s LA home two months ago have been arrested, police said Monday.
The Oscar-winning actor’s home in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles was burgled on June 26. Thankfully, Pitt, 61, was not home at the time of the break in as he was in Japan promoting his new F1 movie.
Local police officials told NBC LA that the three suspects were arrested after evidence gathered in connection with an alleged attempted break-in of a separate home connected them to the Pitt heist. This came after a deep investigation into the break in.
The crime is thought to be a part of a series of burglaries that have hit several homes around Southern California perpetrated by the same gang.
Police were reviewing CCTV footage and comparing fingerprints taken from the location in their efforts to identify the suspects in the burglary of the Once upon a Time in Hollywood star’s home.
The investigation found that the three burglar’s had climbed over a fence in attempts to gain access to the lavish pad, reports Daily Mail.
The men were charged with first-degree burglary and a sentencing enhancement for allegedly committing the act in concert with another person for the seperate offence.
Police told NCB LA that the burglary crew apprehended in connection with the Pitt robbery did not appear to be specifically targeting famous people in their crime spree.
Despite police assurances, many are worried as the Pitt burglary was among several recent break-ins and other crimes at homes owned by celebrities in Los Angeles.
The home of actress Nicole Kidman and musician Keith Urban was robbed on Valentines Day after the residence of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson in the Pacific Palisades was broken into last August.
Jennifer Aniston, the former wife of Pitt, was targeted in a crime in May when a man allegedly rammed his car through the front gates of the actress’ Bel Air home.
This comes after his mother Jane Etta has passed away age 84, as her family confirmed the sad news online.
Jane’s death was announced in a heartfelt Instagram post by her loved ones, as reported by TMZ. Jane, a former family counsellor, had a close and supportive bond with her famous son, accompanying him to numerous red carpet events.
Throughout his nearly four-decade-long career in Hollywood, the former Bullet Train star has often spoken highly of his doting parents, describing his mother as a pillar of support. Jane herself also expressed her love and admiration for all her children, including Brad.
