A woman furious her husband wouldn’t have sex with her has avoided jail after twisting his testicles and sending him to the hospital covered in blood. The woman struggles with alcohol addiction
A woman who twisted her husband’s testicles after claiming her man wouldn’t make love to her has avoided prison. Sharon Irvine seized her partner’s privates as he laid in bed pleasuring himself instead of her at their family home – sparking the bloody incident.
The 55-year-old wife was sent into a fury at her husband David’s actions as she grabbed his scrotum, yanking it and twisting his testicles. Irvine contacted police in January this year and informed them she had pounced on her husband’s pecker and revealed there was “a lot of blood”.
David was rushed to hospital where he required stitches for a wound but he declined to assist police officers, reports the Mirror.
The pair – from Blantyre, Lanarkshire – remain together despite the row. Mr Irvine was present as his wife of 14 years appeared for sentencing at Hamilton Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to assault to severe injury.
Depute fiscal Sinead Corrigan stated: “Around 5.30pm the accused contacted police to report that she had grabbed him with his testicles and that there was a lot of blood.
“The accused then afforded officers entry and said she had contacted police because she had hurt him and done wrong.
“They then attended at the bedroom area where she was cautioned and she stated that she had heard him pleasuring himself and that had angered her because he was not engaging in sexual activity with her and she then grabbed him and caused injury.
“He refused to provide a statement but did say she had jumped on him, grabbed him and pulled and twisted them. She was then cautioned and arrested on suspicion of assault and confirmed that she understood before she was conveyed to Motherwell police office.”
Defence lawyer Andy Iles stated Irvine regretted her actions and what occurred on the night of the incident.
Sheriff Kevin McCallum KC has placed Irvine under supervision for a year and instructed her to engage with addiction support after learning about her struggles with alcohol.
Sheriff Kevin McCallum KC said: “I’m not going to go into the detail of this case for obvious reasons and it has no doubt caused much embarrassment to you and your husband. But the fact is that your husband sustained a quite significant injury but thankfully made a recovery from it.
“I have to take a serious view of it and at first I thought of imposing unpaid work but I’m unable to do so and it would not be right for me to impose something worse on you.”
Prosecutors did not request a non-harassment order after Mr Irvine informed them he did not wish for one to be implemented. The couple have chosen not to comment.
