Thomas Jennings, 30, was seen viciously punching Paula Richardson as he shouted at her to ‘get in the car’ while she screamed at him to ‘stop’ before booting her in the head as she lay on the floor
A violent thug with links to a notorious gang was caught on camera battering his screaming girlfriend before kicking her unconscious in the middle of the road. Thomas Jennings, 30, was seen launching the “chilling” unprovoked assault in sickening doorbell footage.
The shocking video shows him viciously punching Paula Richardson as he shouted at her to “get in the car” as the victim screamed at him to “stop”. He is seen repeatedly pummelling her about the face before dragging her to the ground in the clip.
He then delivered a brutal kick to her head, knocking her unconscious and leaving her with a broken jaw and eye socket before he stormed off and left her laying motionless in the road.
As he walked away from the scene of the “cowardly” attack — which took place in Harbreck Grove, Liverpool, at around 11.15am on March 31 — he threatened a witness, telling her: “If you filmed me, I’ll f***ing burn your house down.”
Liverpool Crown Court heard onlookers rushed to the aid of a bloodied Paula, who was then taken to Aintree Hospital’s A&E department with facial injuries including a gash to the head.
She was found to have suffered a fractured jaw and right eye socket, requiring surgery and being left with issues with her vision, the court heard. The incident resulted in a police appeal after the Ring doorbell footage was circulated widely on social media, sparking a public outcry, the Liverpool Echo reports.
Jennings — who has 36 previous convictions for 64 offences — was jailed for four years, with an extended licence period of three years. His criminal record includes a 34-month sentence for possession of class A drugs with intent to supply, 16 months for a domestic assault in 2018 and 92 months for firearms offences in 2020.
Jennings, who was said to have links to the notorious Kirkstone Riot Squad, provided the gun which was used in a shooting targeting an associate of James Foy, who later shot innocent bystander 20-year-old Mikey Rainsford dead in the tragic culmination of a series of tit-for-tat incident between rival gangs.
Recorder Mark Bradshaw said: “This incident happened in the street in broad daylight. The footage we have all seen is, frankly, chilling… It was, in my judgement, a cowardly attack.”
