Coronation Street fans have been left floored after the soap showed off Bethany Platt’s rather different new look
Coronation Street has appeared to reveal Bethany Platt’s brand new look ahead of her return to the soap.
The character made her debut way back in 2000, when she was born on-screen to mum Sarah (Tina O’Brien). Now played by Lucy Fallon, it’s fair to say Bethany has had her fair share of dramatic moments.
In 2017, she was at centre of a heartbreaking storyline involving child exploitation and grooming, with Lucy bagging an Inside Soap Award for her role.

And last year, the character had botched plastic surgery abroad, causing her to have a stoma bag fitted. In February this year though, Bethany left the cobbles to become a journalist down in London.
The temporary exit made way for Lucy to go on maternity leave, with the actress welcoming her second child with her footballer partner Ryan Ledson in January.
And in May, it was announced that Lucy was heading back to reprise her role as Bethany. Lucy then revealed last month that she was back filming on the cobbles.
But now, after watching a recent video shared on Coronation Street’s social media, fans can’t help but think the soap has revealed Bethany’s brand new look.
In the video, several ITV stars shared their well-wishes to the Lionesses before their epic win at the Euros 2025. Corrie stars Lucy, Peter Gunn, who plays Brian Packham and Roy Cropper actor David Neilson made an appearance.
However, Lucy looked rather different as Bethany with the character rocking a gothic-inspired outfit, including a black cropped top and skirt, complete with a lace choker.
Reacting to the new look, one person said on a Reddit thread: “Is Bethany going goth when she comes back?” Someone else declared: “She looks fab!”
A third wrote: “All for people being confident but doesn’t seem like the type of outfit Bethany would want to wear, especially with the stoma and the top being cropped. Probably has already been forgotten or she got some miracle surgery fix.”
Meanwhile, other people claimed the outfit could be due to the cast potentially filming Halloween scenes, set to be aired in October. A fan mused: “I’m going to assume it’s something to do with Halloween, they should be filming end of October around now.”
