One of the Married At First Sight UK grooms has lashed out at one of the show’s major decisions whilst teasing what’s to come in the latest episode.
Self-styled ‘Romantic Romeo’ John Shepherd was amongst the six fresh faces who took their vows last week.
He and his bride Abigail became part of the existing group of 18 participants in the ground breaking Channel 4 social experiment.
The pair struck up an instant connection and are poised to embark on their honeymoon in a forthcoming episode, though viewers have been left hanging due to scheduling changes.
Prior to saying ‘I do’, Abi disclosed her dedication to fitness and her background competing in bodybuilding competitions, reports OK!.
John, a 38 year old marketing consultant from Flintshire, enjoys globetrotting and singing when he’s not focused on his career.
Admitting he has been single for five years, he also claims he tends to develop feelings rapidly, leading to a series of casual relationships, whilst seeking a dark-haired woman who is “family orientated and honest”.
After exchanging vows, John and Abi enjoyed a heart-to-heart where they discussed their hopes for their joint future, with John gushing that his new spouse appears to be “the whole package” whilst the bride gushed: “I think I have met my Prince Charming.”
Yet he’s since turned to social media to vent his annoyance at behind-the-scenes choices, using a TikTok video to also hint at what’s in store for the next episode. It appears he’s still seething over the choice of honeymoon destination for the couple.
The post was captioned: “I hadn’t packed for that one!” In the video, John expressed: “I cannot believe how much the budget was cut for the newlyweds honeymoon. You’ll see it all on Sunday but in the meantime, have a guess where we went.”
He then pointed to three names of destinations displayed on the screen: Rhyl, Skegness and Bognor Regis. His fans were quick to rally behind him, noting that other couples were whisked away to more exotic locales, including spots in Asia.
One individual remarked: “Nah I’d be wanting blood if I got sent to Skegness whilst another couple go to the Maldives!” Echoing this sentiment, another person chimed in: “I grew up in Bognor Regis, I’d be fuming if I got sent there full stop never mind for honeymoon.”
Meanwhile, another follower playfully responded: “I don’t for a second believe others got the Maldives or St Lucia and you didn’t leave the country… unless you’ve got a criminal record” followed by a winky face.
