Katie Price and Kerry Katona have been touring the UK with their tell-all show, An Evening with Katie Price and Kerry Katona, but fans are said to be ‘furious’ after a recent performance
Fans of Katie Price are reportedly “furious” and clamouring for refunds after the star missed a significant portion of her own show during her latest tour date.
The 47-year-old, alongside her close pal Kerry Katona, has embarked on a 33-date tell-all tour dubbed An Evening with Katie Price and Kerry Katona, which has seen them perform at venues across the country, including The Playhouse in Whitley Bay. However, fans were left disappointed when the venue announced via a now-deleted Instagram post that the show would kick off 30 minutes late due to technical hitches.
When the curtain finally rose, only Kerry was on stage for the first half of the show. Katie was expected to join via video call, but this turned out to be a “disaster,” according to an insider.
The source revealed: “Kerry went on solo for the first half and Katie tried to join by video but it was a disaster. They had a longer interval and Katie finally got there at 9:30. She said it was the traffic and had taken her over nine hours to get there, but fans are furious.”
Disgruntled fans are said to have demanded refunds, with one irate attendee telling The Sun: “We want half our money back because it was only half a show – it’s so unprofessional.”
Another fan labelled Katie’s brief 30-minute appearance a “joke”, expressing frustration that the audience hadn’t received a proper apology, reports the Mirror.
“People don’t want to be hanging around on a Monday night just for that. They didn’t even say sorry properly.”
Katie recently faced backlash from supporters after she scrapped a charity performance to attend Chloe Ferry’s 30th birthday celebration.
She was scheduled to perform at Milton Keynes Pride but withdrew at the eleventh hour. Event organisers criticised her “professionalism”, particularly when her given reason – being too occupied with filming and studio work on a new track – proved to be economical with the truth.
“I was disappointed when she cancelled, but when it turned out to be Chloe Ferry’s birthday, I was infuriated. It’s not right,” said a former fan. “When she said she couldn’t do a charity gig because of filming, that was a load of b*******.”
Katie had informed supporters that she was “sorry” to pull out of her appearance as conflicting commitments prevented her attendance. She explained to fans that she was “filming” and “recording” her newest single, after her triumph with I Got U.
“I hope you have a fantastic time and I’m so sorry. It’s just my filming schedule at the moment,” she said.
Before this incident, Katie was set to top the bill at Barnsley Pride in July, but once more, she withdrew from her slot mere hours before she was expected to appear. During the same month, she also axed a Glasgow Pride appearance citing “another urgent obligation.”
