Several major UK cities are set to see soaring temperatures as the fourth heatwave of the season is on its way with some places facing a sweltering 32C
Brits are set to face another scorcher as UK weather maps reveal which cities could be hardest hit by yet another heatwave.
With three heatwaves already behind us, the fourth is set to warm up the country, with temperatures soaring to 32C in some regions.
Forecasters at Ventusky have also revealed which nine major UK cities could experience the warmest weather on Tuesday.
Latest weather maps show parts of England and Wales rising to a balmy 32C on Tuesday, turning red across several major cities by 4PM. These include London, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Swansea, Nottingham, Leeds and Norwich.
While some places including Brighton and Newcastle won’t see temperatures that high, locals will still be able to make the most of the 23C heat.
Maps also show that the weather is here to stay until Thursday, with the heat shifting to the East of England. A heatwave is officially declared when an area hits the heatwave threshold for three consecutive days. The threshold varies from 25C to 28C across the UK.
The Met Office has also predicted temperatures will go to the 30s from huge parts of the country early next week, Mirror reports.
The agency said: “From Sunday, temperatures will begin to rise across southern parts of the UK, as the remnants of Tropical Storm Dexter, draws warm air up from the southwest across the UK.
“Temperatures are expected to exceed 30C in places across parts of central, southern and eastern England on Monday and Tuesday.”
Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist, Steven Keates, said: “We’re confident that temperatures will increase markedly by the start of next week, reaching the low 30s Celsius in parts of England on Monday and perhaps the mid 30s in a few places on Tuesday.
“However, the length of this warm spell is still uncertain, and it is possible that high temperatures could persist further into next week, particularly in the south.”
It comes as tropical Storm Dexter is travelling across the Atlantic and is forecast to reach northern Britain by late Saturday. Whilst Scotland may experience unsettled conditions with gusts and downpours, England and Wales could witness temperatures climbing high enough for officials to declare a heatwave.
The Met Office states that the remnants of Tropical Storm Dexter will pull warm air from the southwest across Britain, potentially creating sweltering conditions.
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued a yellow heat health alert for a substantial portion of the nation beginning Monday, August 11, as the blazing weather system approaches.
