Netflix has issued a warning to viewers following the release of new four-part documentary series Sean Combs: The Reckoning
Netflix has issued a stark warning to viewers ahead of its explosive new Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs documentary, Sean Combs: The Reckoning.
The four-part series delves deep into the rap mogul’s meteoric rise to stardom, focusing particularly on his ascent to hip hop royalty.
Featuring exclusive interviews with his inner circle and witnesses to his allegedly troubling conduct over the years, the docuseries also explores his bitter rivalries with fellow rappers, including the late Tupac Shakur.
Combs himself features throughout the series, mainly through previously unseen footage captured just days before his September 2024 arrest.
During the period when he was facing federal investigation, following numerous lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct, Diddy started filming himself, reports the Mirror.
This material appears in the documentary’s opening moments, but Netflix made sure to alert audiences before the programme began.
The streaming service issued a statement reading: “The following series contains descriptions of domestic and sexual violence, which may be disturbing for some viewers.” The warning appears well-founded, as viewers have already branded the programme a “tough” watch.
One person posted on X, formerly Twitter: “This diddy documentary is truly something. Tough but very insightful watch. 50 Cent and Netflix put their all into this documentary. #TheReckoning.”
Another viewer commented: “Episode 3 is soo dark like just haunting #TheReckoning.”
Prior to the documentary’s launch, executive producer Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson declared: “I’ve been committed to real storytelling for years through G-Unit Film and Television.”
He continued: “I’m grateful to everyone who came forward and trusted us with their stories, and proud to have Alexandria Stapleton as the director on the project to bring this important story to the screen.”
Discussing the private clips featured across the series, director Stapleton revealed: “It came to us, we obtained the footage legally and have the necessary rights. We moved heaven and earth to keep the filmmaker’s identity confidential.
“One thing about Sean Combs is that he’s always filming himself, and it’s been an obsession throughout the decades. We also reached out to Sean Combs’ legal team for an interview and comment multiple times, but did not hear back.”
Diddy maintains his innocence and refutes all accusations levelled against him.
