A video of Donald Trump walking unsteadily caused another wave of concern for the President’s health, and now he has undergone an MRI scan to prove that his health was completely fine
Donald Trump underwent preventative cardiovascular and abdominal checks as part of an MRI scan, the White House has confirmed. It came amid rising waves of concern about the US President’s health and cognitive abilities.
The announcement about Trump’s health was made by Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt during a briefing. She told reporters that “men in his age group benefit from thorough evaluation of cardiovascular and abdominal health”.
Leavitt went on: “The purpose of this imaging is preventative, to identify any issues early, confirm overall health, and ensure the president maintains long-term vitality and function.”
She added that after the speculation raised by his health, the checks found his heart was “perfectly normal”. She said: “The heart chambers are normal in size.
“The vessel walls appear smooth and healthy and there are no signs of inflammation or clotting; overall, his cardiovascular system shows excellent health.
“His abdominal imaging is also perfectly normal,” Leavitt added, according to the Express. “All major organs appear very healthy and well perfused; everything evaluated is functioning within normal limits, with no acute or chronic concerns.”
The confirmation came after recent speculation about the President’s health in the wake of a video surfaced showing him seemingly struggling to walk. Over the weekend, the Republican leader was seen with his nine year old grandson, Theodore Kushner, in the White House Presidential Walk of Fame.
A clip of the duo was shared on X and has since racked up more than a million views. Users on social media noted that the president looked unsteady and appeared to be dragging one leg whilst walking.
One user suggested this behaviour was characteristic of “post-stroke patients” and individuals with “neurological conditions”. He posted on X: “Just Trump stumbling along with a pigeon-toed gait.
“Common in elderly patients with neurological conditions, and post-stroke patients,” he explained. “Totally nothing to see here I’m sure!”.
This is not the first time that Trump has sparked concern for his health during his time as the leader of the free world. Earlier this year, he was hit with further claims of ill health when he was seen wearing make-up on his hands during meetings with the press.
Trump himself insisted that the make-up was for nothing of major issues, and was instead due to cosmetic purposes as a result of excessive handshaking. The White House clarified that he was also diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, but added the President is in “excellent” health.
