Emmerdale is set to air three special standalone episodes this autumn
Emmerdale has confirmed three standalone episodes as Bear Wolf’s fate will be revealed.
The ITV soap will air the special instalments this autumn, with three key storylines being explored.
The first involves April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan), who has been reluctantly dealing drugs for villain Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) and his mother Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths).
It was recently revealed that the local farmer was the mastermind behind the drugs gang. Celia notably threatened April’s life after the youngster considered telling the authorities the truth.
As April’s ever present and worried father, Marlon (Mark Charnock), tries to get through to her, a special episode will explore their “fragile and possibly broken” relationship as she slips further from his grasp.

The soap will also take a “reflective” look behind the bars of Robert Sugden’s (Ryan Hawley) recent incarceration.
ITV viewers will know that Robert was handed a 14-year prison sentence for the murder of Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie), who had sexually assaulted his sister, Victoria (Isabel Hodgins).
Robert was released after just six years back in May when he stormed his ex-husband Aaron Dingle’s (Danny Miller) wedding to his evil brother, John (Oliver Farnworth).
The character was soon taken into custody for breaching his bail conditions, before temporarily returning to prison after John framed his sibling for his crimes last month.
The special episode will explore what happened when Robert got sent down for the death of Lee, and if his time behind bars changed him forever. The plot will likely involve Robert’s secret prison husband Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill), who was introduced to viewers last month.
Finally, Emmerdale will confirm Bear Wolf’s (Joshua Richards) fate after several months off screen.
When Bear’s son Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) struggled to live under the same roof as his father, Bear decided to leave for another life in Ireland back in July.
Paddy believes that his estranged father is safe with friends in Ireland. However, it soon becomes apparent that Bear never made the journey across the Irish Sea. Where did he disappear to?
“A special standalone episode will explore the hundred missing days of Bear’s life and we’ll learn that he is sadly trapped in an all too common situation for a forgotten generation,” a statement reads.
The episodes will likely have a devastating impact on the rest of the village as new truths finally come to light.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and is available to stream from 7am on ITVX
