Gogglebox stars Tom and Julie Malone have been inundated with support from fans
Gogglebox favourites Tom and Julie Malone have received an outpouring of support from fans following a heartwarming wedding anniversary post.
The beloved pair first appeared on the Channel 4 programme in 2014 alongside the entire Malone family: sons Shaun and Tom Jnr, plus daughter Vanessa, who has featured regularly throughout the years.
The family, complete with their pack of Rottweiler dogs, quickly became viewer favourites thanks to their witty commentary and ability to consistently entertain audiences.
Despite Tom Jnr’s departure in 2021, the remaining family members have continued their sofa duties and returned for the show’s 26th series, which launched last month.
Beyond the programme, Julie and Tom – who have been an item since 1982 – regularly keep their 292,000 Instagram followers informed about their daily adventures, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Last week, the cherished duo used their social media platform to mark a significant wedding milestone. Sharing a snap of themselves enjoying drinks together, they captioned it: “Happy 32nd anniversary to us!”.
However, the following day, Tom and Julie posted a video clarifying their mistake. Speaking at a charity football match, Tom admitted to supporters: “It’s actually our 33rd. To be honest I did forget, but you [Julie] got the years wrong.”
Despite the mix-up, fans quickly flooded the comments with congratulatory messages. One supporter wrote: “Happy anniversary to you both.” Another commented: “Beautiful couple happy anniversary to you both.”
A third person then added: “Happy 33 yr anniversary you beautiful people and very lucky.” Sharing similar sentiments, another fan raved: “Happy anniversary you two are my favourite couple on Gogglebox.” Their programme co-star Ellie Warner also penned: “Happy anniversary couple goals.”
Tom and Julie’s milestone celebration follows a challenging period for the cherished Malone household. Back in June, son Shaun revealed on Instagram that the family’s beloved pooch Bob had died.
Sharing heartfelt footage and snaps of their four-legged friend, he penned: “Today is the day we had to say goodbye to big Bob, an absolutely great dog like a big cuddly bear.”
Meanwhile, mum Julie posted: “Today we sad goodbye to our beautiful protective Bobby, he spent his last day doing what he loved, watching over the Grandchildren playing in the garden .We are heartbroken. RIP our beautiful Big Bob xx.”
Gogglebox airs every Friday at 9pm on Channel 4.
