Big Brother contestant George Gilbert, who was removed from the house due to “unacceptable behaviour”, has spoken out after ITV terminated his involvement in the series
Big Brother’s George Gilbert has addressed ITV’s decision to eject him from the 2025 series over ‘unacceptable language’.
The Sun has claimed that George was removed from the ITV reality show over allegations he made a comment which could be seen as anti-semitic. He was booted out of the house earlier today (Wednesday October 8) after bosses deemed some of his actions as “unacceptable language and behaviour”.
The Sun claims that an insider said George’s comments could have been interpreted as anti-semitic and he was called into the Diary Room, where he was immediately ejected from the show.
George has since spoken out following the incident and issued a statement after leaving the Big Brother house. He said: “As a flag bearer of freedom of speech, I never hesitate to discuss and question any topic regardless of how contentious it may be.
“Sadly, the boundaries of what is deemed offensive are subjective and I evidently went too far this time by crossing their line one too many times. It is a shame that specific debate could not be had and that it has had to end like this. Infamy, infamy, they’ve all got it in for me.”
George has been caught up in controversy throughout the series after the show’s live launch show aired on September 28. He was spoken to after making a homophobic hand gesture toward co-star Sam which left him in tears, rowed with Teja over immigration and was accused of fat-shaming Cameron after telling him not to eat a biscuit.
George also ruffled feathers after telling his female co-stars they “all look and think the same” and clashed with Jenny while debating addiction, during which he told her she shouldn’t give money to homeless people.
Big Brother issued a statement and said: “Following repeated use of unacceptable language and behaviour, George has been removed from the Big Brother House with immediate effect and will no longer participate in the programme.”
It is believed that tonight’s episode (October 8) will feature George in scenes recorded before he was removed from the show, but ITV will not air the comments that resulted in his termination.
