Izzy and Max
Sports instructor and PE teacher Max, 24, from Burley admits he was “fuming, nervous and hungover” when he encountered girlfriend Izzy, 23, from Manchester on the programme.
Discussing what viewers can anticipate from the series, Max revealed: “Drama, emotion, comedy, unexpected twists and turns and chaos.”
Izzy chimed in: “It was absolutely full of drama. It was such a fiery cast that there was never a dull moment from anyone.
“I don’t think we were ever in a situation where we were calm.
“There was always something going on in that room or in that corner so chaos I would say in one word.”
Veronica and Chaynie
London-based receptionist Veronica, 25, described the experience as “crazy” with “lots of twists and turns”. Recalling her partner Chaynie’s reaction upon discovering the true nature of the show, she revealed: “He was angry. He thought he was going on Hot Shots and I helped him go on there.
“For him, it was a bit of betrayal. He forgot about it.”
Chaynie, a semi-professional footballer from East London, expressed his feelings bluntly: ” I felt like I’d been stabbed in the back.
“You see it in movies but you don’t expect it to happen to you ever and that was one of those moments.”
Akonne and Daniella
Professional fighter, stripper and content creator Akonne, 33, from Birmingham, shared that Bad Boyfriends has actually strengthened his relationship with girlfriend Daniella.
He reflected: “To be a part of the Bad Boyfriends, first of all it was a shock! In the end it turned out to be quite amazing. A lot of work on myself – I’ve grown so much as a person.
“Me and Daniella have grown so much closer. I can honestly say it’s been an amazing experience and it’ll be one I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”
Daniella, a 24 year old content creator from Worcestershire, added: “I think the viewers are going to be jaw-dropped with mine and Akonne’s relationship.
“We have a very unique dynamic – Akonne has a very unique job. I feel like when they watch the show they’re not going to know what happens next.”
Shay and Miles
London-based cyber security worker Shay, 33, was taken aback by the reaction she received from her boyfriend Miles when the truth came out.
Describing Miles’ response upon discovering the real aim of the programme, she said: “Absolute carnage.
“I never expected him to react the way he did but that reveal was so nerve-wracking. I’ve never put Miles in a situation like that.”
Energy healing therapist Miles, 33, hailing from South London, chimed in: “It was mad! I froze. I took it with a pinch of salt and maybe a bit of pepper.
“It was alright but it was mad. There was carnage, happiness, joy, disrespect and pressure.”
Anthony and Dillon
Dillon, 29, a care home activities co-ordinator from Derbyshire, admitted his surprise at being on the show as he didn’t see himself as a poor partner.
He confessed: “I was a little bit surprised to be there because I didn’t think I was that bad. I am genuinely very empathetic especially because of the job I do – I do really care about people.
“To care about Anthony is paramount in a relationship, you’ve got to really care about the person you’re with else there is no point being in a relationship.”
Manchester-based care assistant Anthony, 27, added: “At the beginning of the series I was a bit of a rowdy little cow – I didn’t know how to control my anger.
“If Dillon was angry at me that energy was coming my way then I would reciprocate that energy and then it would end up like cat and dog at each other.”
Dan and Ellie
Dan and Ellie, both hailing from Cornwall, are the programme’s youngest couple but claim their relationship has vastly improved.
Roofer Dan, 22, revealed: “It came as a massive surprise but I enjoyed it. It’s made my relationship with Ellie a lot better. I went in there as a Hot Shot and came out as a better boyfriend.”
Hairdresser Ellie, 20, continued: “It’s a complete whirlwind of feelings.
“The show was chaotic, healing and heartbreaking. It was a great experience.
“I think the viewers can expect a calm, not very dramatic girl when it comes to dramatic situations but they’re going to see Dan is an absolute w***er!”.
Italo and Jacinta
Driver Italo, 29, from South London confesses he was “definitely a bad boyfriend” at the beginning of the series.
GP Liaison Officer Jacinta, 25, also from South London, revealed her partner felt “betrayed” when he discovered the reality about the programme but she managed to gain valuable insights during the experience.
She explained: “I learnt a few things about myself – not saying hurtful words when we’re having conversations and being patient.
“I also learned a few things about my partner. It was a learning process for the both of us.
“Viewers are going to see drama from both sides and entertainment as well – it was entertaining. “.
Joe and Mia
Joe, a 31-year-old roofer from Stockport, was gobsmacked when Olivia walked in and the truth came out that he wasn’t on Hot Shots but instead Bad Boyfriends.
He confessed: “It was mad. A rollercoaster ride of emotions, I went from being a bad boyfriend to realising very quickly that Mia was the one for me and I needed to change.”
Scientist Mia, a 25 year old Mancunian, shared: “I didn’t realise how much it would change me as a person. When you’re surrounded by all these women with amazing attributes, I wish I could put them all together and be that person.”
She continued: “Every single girl had a quality that I would love in myself. I learned so much about myself on this journey – I realised how insecure I was. I’ve realised I should love myself a bit more.”
