US politician Tim Burchett claimed in a social media video that the deep sea might be home to unknown life forms we still don’t know about, and he isn’t the first official to theorise about aliens
An official claims that there are “entities” lurking in the ocean, and it isn’t the first time someone in the US government has theorised about alien-like life forms that may be floating out there. In a new video shared on X, American politician Tim Burchett put his claims on the record while walking in Washington DC. He believes that the deep sea might be home to weird life forms we have no idea about.
Rep Burchett said: “What if these are entities that are here on this earth, that have been on this earth for who knows how long, and we think they’re coming from way out.
“Maybe they did a millennia ago, but they’re here, and they’re in these deep water areas. Like we say, we know more about the face of the Moon than we know what’s going on [in the ocean].”
He continued: “We have a higher propensity of sightings around these five or six—I believe—deep water areas. It creates a question there.
“And then when we have naval personnel telling me we have these sightings, these underwater craft they’re chasing that go hundreds of miles an hour, and the best we got is something that does maybe a little under forty miles an hour, so I have questions about that stuff.”
It comes as a declassified CIA document revealed that the US was bracing itself for a potential alien invasion following numerous sightings across the country.
The report, featuring a section titled US Official Attitude to UFOs, reveals that unexplained sightings were over 20 times the usual rate during the summer of 1952.
According to various declassified documents shared via UFO advocacy group, the Disclosure Party, abnormal volumes of reports in the 50s and 60s led to a joint initiative from the US and Australian governments to evaluate extra-terrestrial reports.
The 58-page document, shared by the National Archives of Australia, reveals that the project ran from 1957 until 1971, assessing the probability of an alien invasion.
This research coincided with Project Blue Book, a study of UFOs by the US Air Force that kicked off in 1952, following a series of sightings in the skies above Washington DC.
The Disclosure Party wrote on X: “Documents from the National Archives of Australia indicate the US was intentionally withholding information about UFOs from the public in 1953.”
Project Blue Book was set up to delve into reports of mysterious sky sightings and decide if they were a danger to national security.
