A yob is captured on shocking CCTV footage booting a woman’s car so hard he lost his shoe — ‘just for the fun of it.’
The victim had just finished a shift at a city centre boozer when she discovered her car had been vandalised in the early hours of Sunday, July 27, in Birmingham.
Video footage revealed how a stranger pulled, kicked and yanked the wing mirror off the Kia Venga as it was parked up on Tennant Street.
The footage first shows the man trying to pull it off with both hands before deciding to kick the side of the car. But in the process, he loses a shoe.
Seemingly more infuriated by this, he then places his shoe back on and boots it again twice. Victoria Cleary, who works on the door at the Bavarian-themed bar, told our sister title BirminghamLive: “It’s my little pride and joy.
“I was quite upset and angry because it’s just the mindlessness of it, and It was a grown man; that was what annoyed me. I was gobsmacked when I saw the CCTV. The guy that did it I have no idea who it is. I don’t even recognise him [from the bar], and he wouldn’t know it was my car either way.”
Victoria told the outlet she has parked there for around four years, as she worked at Pryzm before Heidi’s bar for the past eight months. But she said she had never encountered anything like it before.
She added: “I just left my car to go to work, I parked there every Saturday and have done for the last eight months. It’s the fact that it was just so random, that’s what’s surprised me, the way he just looks around to see if anyone’s watching and then just kicks it. I was so angry.”
She hadn’t yet had chance to have her car sorted, so it’s secured with a cable tie currently. She added: “It’s just an act of sheer vandalism. It wasn’t as if it was a young kid.
“I was surprised that I have parked down there for years, I have never had anything like that happen to my car. I’ve been broken into before, but never had anyone vandalise for the fun of it.”
