EastEnders fans are convinced Walford troublemaker Joel Marshall will end up killing a Walford resident this Halloween after learning the truth about his true parentage
EastEnders fans are convinced Joel Marshall will murder a member of the Slater family in a devastating twist.
Played by Max Murray, the villainous character joined the BBC soap in March this year alongside his dad Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) and his dad’s girlfriend Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig)
Joel’s dark tendencies and worrying behaviour have come to light with the teen including filming himself sleeping with Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) without her knowledge, showing Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) explicit adult content online and assault a young man on the tube.
It has since come to light that Joel had previously taken an inappropriate photo of a girl while they were in Australia leading to Ross having to pay off her family prior to their move to Albert Square.
In recent scenes, Ross has received a phone call from Joel’s mum Cleo who’s getting remarried but fans think returning Walford icon Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) is in fact his biological mother and that he’ll turn on her when she arrives back in Albert Square next week.
Taking to Reddit, one fan penned: “I think I know where the storyline is going. Its a bit ridiculous but as many have speculated. I think it will turn out that Zoe is his mum. Now, with Joel’s incel character I think he will find this out on Halloween and in a fit of rage he will kill Zoe.
“Think about it, Zoe is a legacy character that you could easily bring back just to kill off and it would be extremely, extremely impactful and disturbing.
“It would also highlight a much deeper and darker side to the incel community. So him killing Kat’s daughter (Tommy’s sister) could lead to Tommy finding this out and killing Joel at Christmas.
“An absolutely dark tragedy but it will also highlight the extremes that the people in these communities, who listen to these idiots online, could potentially go to.”
Another added: “I certainly wouldn’t be upset if that was true.”
A third person said: “This Halloween looks to be epic. The revelation of Zoe being Joel’s mother. 25 years since the Slaters arrived too And the return of Zoe.”
Monday’s (September 1) episode will see Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) desperate to find her son Tommy, unaware he went to find Zoe after hearing Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) had met with her.
As Kat and Alfie do all they can to contact their boy, they start to fear that he may never return but Kat soon gets a message from him that he’s outside.
Unable to contain her emotions after seeing Tommy, she soon hears the voice of Zoe in a scene fans have been demanding for two decades.
Kat desperately tries to to speak with her estranged daughter but with so much history between the two, and with Zoe very different to the girl that left Walford 20 years ago, things are far from smooth sailing for the pair.
With more details about Zoe’s past to emerge and a shooting incident to rock Albert Square, it looks like a week fans can’t miss.
