There are reports of long delays on the M6, M62 and M602 this morning following separate incidents
Motorists are facing lengthy tailbacks on three major motorways this morning after a series of separate incidents struck the M6, M62 and M602.
The M602 has been hit by significant congestion following a crash between Gilda Brook Road, close to Trafford Park and Eccles, and the Regent Road Roundabout in Eccles, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Traffic monitoring system Inrix reports: “M602 Eastbound partially blocked, long delays due to accident from J2 A576 Gilda Brook Road (Trafford Park / Eccles) to J3 A57 Regent Road (Regent Road Roundabout). Congestion to J1 (Eccles Interchange).”
Meanwhile, two lanes have been shut on the M6 after an incident between the Winwick Link Road near Newton Le Willows, and the East Lancs Road, close to Haydock.
Inrix confirms: “Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M6 Northbound from J22 A49 Winwick Link Road (Newton Le Willows) to J23 A580 East Lancashire Road (Haydock).”
The M62 has also been struck by disruption in Cheshire, with crawling traffic caused by a collision on the eastbound carriageway from junction 11 to junction 12, at the Eccles Interchange.
