Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left distracted by Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s trousers during the second live show
Strictly Come Dancing star Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink left fans speechless as they said, “Oh god”.
The hit BBC dancing competition returned to screens on Saturday night (October 4), as hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman introduced the celebrities to the iconic ballroom.
Judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse, and Craig Revel Horwood were also ready to critique the performances, ahead of the first elimination on Sunday.
During the show, ex-footballer Jimmy and his professional partner Lauren Oakley performed a Cha Cha Cha to “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” by Santa Esmeralda.
However, several Strictly fans were left distracted by Jimmy’s trousers, with one person writing on X (formerly Twitter): “From the comments here, I have a feeling that most of us here paid more attention to Jimmy’s trousers than the dance,” reports Wales Online.

Another added: “Jimmy’s trousers were doing a lot of work tonight,” while a third said: “What is up with Jimmy’s trousers?”
A fourth fan echoed the sentiment, saying: “Waiting for all the #Strictly comments about Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s VERY tight trousers,” with another similarly sharing: “Oh dear god, those trousers aren’t a good look.”
A sixth viewer commented: “Interesting attire, Jimmy,” while other fans shared how much they enjoyed the routine. The judges seemed to agree, with Shirley Ballas praising Jimmy on his rhythm which gave her a “fabulous feeling”.
She added: “You’ve got a great chemistry together. You lighten up the room. I thought you did a grand job, well done.”
Anton Du Beke said: “I like that Cha Cha… This is how Cha Cha is supposed to be; that is how Cha Cha was. Thank you very much.”
After receiving generally positive comments, Jimmy and Lauren were awarded a total of 25 points from the judges, just two points lower than their score last week.
During last weekend’s first live show, ex-footballer Karen Carney and her professional partner Carlos Gu topped the leaderboard after scoring 31 points for their Jive to Blondie’s “One Way or Another”.
Meanwhile, Lorraine star Ross King and his partner Jowita Przystał found themselves at the other end of the leaderboard with just 10 points for their Hollywood-inspired Cha Cha Cha to “California Gurls” by Katy Perry.
This weekend will see the return of the dreaded dance-off, with an added twist. This year, the head judge role will change each week, with a different judge making the final dance-off decision in the event of a tie.
