Strictly star Chris Robshaw says dancing on the BBC show is more brutal than fighting on SAS: Who Dares Wins.
The England rugby hero needed emergency surgery after being medically withdrawn from the Channel 4 reality show last year. But despite his painful exit, Chris, 39, believes Strictly is much scarier.
The dad-of-two, who had an operation on his dislocated shoulder, said: “Strictly is scary, scary, scary. Yeah it’s scarier. I think SAS is very much similar to stuff I’ve done in rugby. But I’ve never done anything dance related, nothing to this extreme. At least with SAS I was fit and I could run.
“I could carry stuff and I trained with sleds and all that stuff, which does help you. dancing, not so much.”
On the plus side, Chris reckons his dance partner Nadiya Bychova, 36, is much nicer than his old SAS Staff Sergeants.
He said: “They were quite mean, but I have an amazing teacher and partner in Nadiya. She’s incredible.”
Chris is one of the celebs expected to be in danger during tonight’s first result show.
The former England Rugby Union Captain scored just 14 out of a potential 40 points during last week’s launch show.
His wife Camilla Kerslake hit out claiming celebs, like West End star Amber Davies, had an unfair dance advantage.
Asked if he thought it was unfair Chris said: “It is what it is. You could say I had an advantage in SAS because I was fitter than some of the others.
“I love my wife and she’s my biggest supporter. She wants us to do well and that’s kind of it really.”
Chris has now resorted to practicing TikTok dances to Sabrina Carpenter songs to avoid the dreaded dance off.
Chatting before last night’s Viennese waltz, Chris said: “We warm up most days with a TikTok dance. Sabrina Carpenter helps to loosen the body up.”
Pro partner Nadiya added: “Sabrina is his favourite. He walks in every morning and says I have another TikTok for us to learn.
“I’ve never done TikTok in my life before I was paired up with Chris.”
