Strictly Come Dancing pro dancers James and Ola Jordan are celebrating their 22nd wedding anniversary
Strictly Come Dancing’s beloved duo James and Ola Jordan first partnered up as professional dancers in 2000 before making their joint debut on the BBC One programme in 2006.
On Sunday (October 12), Ola, 43, posted a heartfelt message on Instagram alongside a collection of photographs showcasing their journey together over the years.
She wrote: “22 years married! ! ! I deserve a medal, a parade and possibly a statue. Happy anniversary to my darling husband James – currently off living his best life on tour with the Dance Legends while I hold down the fort… and the recycling bin and trying to remember where we keep the screwdriver and at least three light bulbs I’m refusing to change on principle! ! !
“Can’t wait for you to get home… mainly because I’ve got a looooong list of blue jobs I need you to do. Love you.”
Followers flocked to the comments to congratulate the pair, with one writing: “Happy Anniversary to a great couple – you are both amazing dancers and hope many more years to come.”
Another commented: “Congratulations to the best dancing partners ever on Strictly,” whilst a third added: “Happy anniversary to you both.”
James, 47, also shared his own anniversary tribute on Instagram, posting a montage of photographs and videos documenting their relationship over the years, reports the Mirror.
He penned: “22 years! ! ! Happy Anniversary to my partner in crime and beautiful wife @olajordan. Can’t wait to get home to spend time with my two girls – love you.”
The couple’s journey began in 2000 when James was seeking a fresh professional dance partner, leading him to Poland for auditions where he encountered Ola. Initially maintaining a strictly professional relationship, their connection blossomed into romance two years down the line.
The pair tied the knot in 2003, later joining the cast of Strictly Come Dancing together for series four in 2006. James bid farewell to the programme in 2013, with Ola following suit the subsequent year.
In February 2020, James and Ola’s dreams came true when they welcomed daughter Ella following IVF treatment. The couple attempted IVF once more hoping for a sibling, but after conceiving, they faced heartbreaking circumstances.
During an appearance on Vanessa Feltz’s Channel 5 programme earlier this year, Ola opened up: “It was very heartbreaking, devastating. We went in, and suddenly everything went quiet, and I knew something was not right.”
The pair detailed how medics confirmed the absence of a heartbeat. After the miscarriage, doctors informed Ola she faced just a “five percent chance of having a healthy baby” through additional IVF attempts.
She added: “It’s hard but when we came out with our story that we were going through IVF and struggling to have children, there was so many people who contacted us. It’s not easy and it’s better to talk about it.
“We had been together for a long time and tried for 18 years not to be pregnant because you’re on the show, have this career and life.
“One day we said ‘let’s just take it easy and see what happens. We’re not not trying to get pregnant anymore but let’s not put pressure on it’. Years went pass and nothing happened.”
