Sky Sports have announced a major shake-up to their coverage, with darts queen Emma Paton set to embark on a different role as the host of a new Premier League show
Sky Sports have announced a major shake-up in their coverage, with Emma Paton set to feature in a new role.
Ahead of the new Premier League season, Sky are launching a weekday Premier League magazine show which will air Monday to Thursday, 5pm to 7pm.
Presenting duties will be shared and rotated between Sky’s leading darts presenter Paton and Julian Warren. And each episode will feature a reporter and pundit to discuss the biggest Premier League stories.
Paton, 30, is the face of darts on Sky Sports and is often seen on US Open tennis coverage and WWE, as well as a host for Sky Sports News.
Having joined Sky Sports as a journalist back in 2012, Paton made the jump to presenting in 2019 and has remained a mainstay ever since.
Alongside the weekday programme, Sky are also launching a new Premier League preview show. Premier League Friday will be broadcast on 5pm on Sky Sports News
Its coverage is reportedly set to be hosted by One Show presenter Roman Kemp.
The first programme will air next Friday before the opening game of the season as Liverpool host Bournemouth. Sky Sports News is set to air the programme at 5pm before the action gets underway at Anfield at 8pm.
Former Capital One DJ Kemp, who is a big Arsenal fan, will be joined by a rotating panel of pundits and reporters to discuss the main football talking points and preview the upcoming weekend’s fixtures.
It’s the broadcaster’s latest bid to attract younger viewers after overhauling their Saturday morning schedule to a weak social media-led coverage.
The new shows come after Sky endured a turbulent summer, making seven senior staff redundant in June, including presenters Melissa Reddy and Rob Wotton.
