Coronation Street’s Kit Green has appeared on the soap recently with crutches, sparking concern from fans about the actor
Coronation Street fans were left baffled when Kit Green appeared in recent episodes using a pair of crutches.
The character, played by former Hollyoaks star Jacob Roberts, made his debut on the ITV soap last year.
Bent copper Kit rocked up as Bernie Winter’s (Jane Hazlegrove) estranged son – and it’s fair to say it didn’t take him long to become involved in some drama.

From forcing legend Beth Tinker (Lisa George) out of town, to finding out he is the real father of troublemaker teen Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey), Kit’s time in Weatherfield has not been short of drama.
What’s more, last month, he was left for dead after being stabbed and attacked by killer Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) who had escaped from prison. Fortunately, Kit was rushed to hospital and has since been making a recovery.
However, over on the soap recently fans have been left confused after Kit was seen with crutches. He was spotted with them in Monday’s episode (August 4) while trying to get to know Brody.
And Kit had them again when Bernie married Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) in Wednesday’s episode (August 6). Baffled, one viewer wrote on a Corrie Facebook fan page: “Why is Kit on crutches?” Someone else added: “I thought that as well.” A third chimed in: “My thoughts exactly!.”
And it turns out there’s a reason for Kit’s crutches. At the time of filming, actor Jacob was recovering from surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). This runs diagonally in the middle of the knee.
The actor previously spoke about the operation and told OK! Magazine that someone had taken a snap of him as he woke up from the surgery.
“I had ACL and meniscus surgery and while I was waking up in the recovery room, someone took a picture of me. I told the nurse and she asked them to delete it. I don’t mind a picture, but I don’t want to be photographed waking up from anaesthetic,” he shared.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
