Lorraine Kelly left the Loose Women panel gasping after a cheeky comment about her sex life. The ITV star has been married to Steven Smith since 1992, and it’s clear the spark is still going strong.
The 65-year-old has gone topless for a new campaign for breast cancer, and was on the lunchtime show to discuss it. But she soon injected her trademark humour, all while delivering an important message.
Speaking of the campaign, called Change + Check, Lorraine explained the importance of women regularly checking their breasts. She said: “Don’t just check your boobs once a year, that’s daft.”
She went on: “Once a month, every two weeks, it’s really up to you.
“It’s about your normal though. Some women have got lumpy boobies.”
Lorraine soon got cheeky, adding: “It’s whatever suits you. For me, I do it once a month.
“But my husband checks my boobies quite regularly.”
Loose Women panelist Coleen Nolan gasped and told the audience: “She’s just showing off.”
Lorraine quickly came back with more, saying: “He knows them better than me, Coleen. He knows… everything.”
Cheeky Coleen then got in on the fun, asking: “Oh is he good at that? I might pop round!”
Fellow panelist Mariella Frostup then proved: “Is it part of the foreplay or is it clinical?”
Lorraine explained: “Sometimes it can be… He’s very selfless.”
And it’s clear the Loose Women were shocked, as Kaye Adams said: “I’ve never heard you speak like this before!”
But Lorraine said it was all to bring awareness to the importance of regularly checking for anything out of the ordinary.
She said: “Anything that gets the message across! Anything at all.”
Lorraine got with husband Steven in the 1980s and got married in 1992.
They share one daughter together, Rosie, who is 31.
Lorraine’s new campaign was to launch the National Check Your Boobs Day, which aims to raise awareness of the importance of keeping up with breast health.
It will happen on October 1 each year, as a crucial reminder for women to make checking their bodies a regular thing.
