Hailey Welch shot to fame thanks to her iconic catchphrase, but has now opted to carve her own path after she admitted the controversial podcast she created became too much for her
Infamous TikTok star Hailey Welch has admitted she has scrapped her podcast. When asked about why she opted to ditch the series, she said it had become “too much” for her to carry on with.
Hailey first shot to fame on TikTok with her iconic line of shouting “Hawk Tuah” while having some racy fun with a guy. The video propelled her to internet stardom, and came with a slew of new opportunities for her.
Her soundbite eventually spread like wildfire, landing her with a variety of new projects for her, including a podcast supported by Jake Paul. However, she has now confirmed that she is leaving her podcasts behind to enter the world of livestreaming.
Dexerto revealed that after the launch of her podcast “Talk Tuah”, Hailey was guided heavily by the YouTube star, helping to get big names on her show. However, her fame came at the cost of her popularity, as she soon became mired in controversy after launching her own cryptocurrency last December.
Having launched the token just weeks after starting the podcast, the move immediately generated suspicion around Hailey’s motives. Eventually, a lawsuit was filed by investors, which prompted Hailey to commit to getting their money back.
In the wake of the scandal, Hailey took time away from the spotlight, returning in April 2025 for a short time, before going off grid again in May. It has been four months since Talk Tuah released an episode. But, in a recent chat with People, she admitted she had killed off the podcast for her own good.
When asked about why she had decided to rest the podcast, she explained the podcast was “too much” for her to handle logistically. This was due to her constantly having to fly from her native Tennessee to California every time to record the show.
She said: “It wasn’t fun anymore, so we’re going to try something different.” The star is now preparing to make a huge career move by taking her audience to livestreaming platform Twitch, adding her channel now be branded Talk Tuah LIVE.
Building up suspense for her new career, she said the plan was drawn up so that she could carry on a version of her podcast, while also having the chance to speak with her fanbase. Dexerto was able to track down the official channel, but as of today (October 2), there were no livestreams to speak of.
Instead, Hailey wrote in the description: “Coming soon”. She added no more information on when she is expected to begin streaming. The channel name has matched with her other accounts, meaning she will be streaming as herself as opposed to her brand.
Hailey also spoke out against the crypto debacle that led to her being vilified and prompting the move to Twitch, adding that she respected the backlash, as “everyone’s entitled to their own opinion”. However, she added that this was not just a lone effort.
She said: “They give me way too much credit for that. Do you really think I could’ve pulled that off?
“I’d definitely tell my past self to be careful who you trust and be very careful what you put your name on, that’s for sure. That’s my problem: I’m a really trusting person until you give me a reason not to, and it normally bites me right in the butt.”
