Strictly Come Dancing fans have predicted the 2025 winner already
Amber Davies has made her first appearance in the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom, mere hours after being announced as part of the line-up, and fans are already tipping her to be the next champion.
The former Love Island victor was unveiled as the replacement for fellow reality star Dani Dyer on the BBC contest, after Dani was sadly forced to pull out due to a fractured ankle.
West End sensation Amber has been partnered with Nikita Kuzmin, and confessed earlier this week: “This has been the craziest 24 hours of my life.”
Promising to “give it my all”, she added: “”I’ve watched Strictly with my family since I was younger and to now be part of the show is a dream come true.”

After her stellar performance tonight, fans have predicted that Amber could be the next winner, following in the footsteps of 2019 champion Kelvin Fletcher, who was also a last-minute contestant, reports North Wales Live.
One fan commented: “Amber’s gonna be this years Kelvin isn’t she. Stepping in at the last minute and smashing it (and probably winning).”
Another speculated: “Is Amber going to do a Kelvin Fletcher and go on to win?”
A third echoed: “Is Amber going to do a Kelvin Fletcher and come in off the back of an injured contestant and win it?”
“Amber is gonna win, remember I told you,” one fan declared, while another stated: “Amber and Nikita for the win already honestly.”
Following Nikita and Amber’s waltz, head judge Shirley Ballas confessed: “I’m quite emotional.”
She continued: “If you’d have had two weeks like everybody else, my mind boggles. This was outstanding. It had that elegance, sophistication and beauty, it has this really easy movement.”
Shirley hailed the routine as “miraculous”, whilst Anton Du Beke branded their performance “lovely”.
“The feel was gorgeous and the musicality was lovely,” he remarked, highlighting Amber’s “enormous potential”.
Craig Revel Horwood complimented Amber’s “exquisite” arms, whilst Motsi Mabuse declared: “This is a dynamite package.”
Speaking to Claudia Winkleman afterwards, Amber confessed her Strictly journey hadn’t “sunk in”.
“Everybody has been so welcoming,” she revealed.
Meanwhile, Nikita disclosed: “What an overwhelming week, I for the first time was blanking during my choreography.”
He then honoured his previous dance partner Dani, expressing: “Dani is such a sweet girl and it was really a sad moment.
“Dani, if you’re watching, I hope we get to finish our quickstep one day and I love you loads.”
Addressing his new partner, he declared: “Amber, I have so much respect for you. This is madness, you’re so brave.”
This follows fans being split over Amber joining the Strictly lineup, with some raging about “fix” allegations due to her previous experience.
Following the backlash, ex-Strictly professional Oti Mabuse, who assessed Amber on the 2024 series of Dancing on Ice, revealed: “I just saw that Amber Davies is doing Strictly. Yes, I am so excited!
“I definitely do think that Strictly, genuinely from the bottom of their heart, they tried to have a non-dance experience series, where very few of them have dance experience, and it just flipped and it just turned out that a few of them have it.
“But the ones who have dance experience are genuinely the ones that set the standard, they’re the ones that create those incredible routines.
“Like Amber, I know her obviously from Love Island, but even more getting to know her from Dancing On Ice… She’s amazing.
“She was very nervous to be on ice because it was very scary, but on land, she’s going to slay, and it’s very exciting. I can’t wait.
“I think this is Nikita’s chance now to be amazing to create very creative choreography, new choreography. This is his chance to maybe even make lifts that we haven’t seen. Definitely, I think those would be my favourites so far.”
Dani has also shown her backing for her replacement, posting on Instagram: “Good luck babe you will be amazing.”
After withdrawing from Strictly following medical guidance, the mother-of-three revealed to supporters: “I had a fall in rehearsals and landed funny.
“I thought I had rolled my foot but it swelled up badly over the weekend and after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle.
“Apparently doing the quickstep on a fracture is not advisable (!!) and the doctors have said I am not allowed to dance so l’ve had to pull out of the show.
“To say I’m heartbroken is the biggest understatement. I am so going to miss dancing with Nikita but will of course be watching closely and cheering all the couples on.”
Strictly Come Dancing is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
