Strictly Come Dancing has announced a major change to the results show for the first time in seven years with celebrities left gobsmacked at the news
Just as Strictly Come Dancing fans believed the drama was finished, the BBC programme revealed a major shake-up to the results show.
Following the end of the first live episode, presenters Claudia and Tess disclosed that the authority no longer rests solely with Shirley Ballas.
Traditionally, head judge Shirley has carried the burden of making the agonising choice of which duo in the bottom two must depart when votes are deadlocked following the dance-off.
Nevertheless, it has now been confirmed that this responsibility will be distributed amongst all four judges, with a different panellist wielding the decisive vote each week.
This change will commence next week, when the inaugural couple faces elimination from the competition. Strictly remains tight-lipped about which judge holds the casting vote, leaving the celebrities on edge….
“This changes everything!” declared former Geordie Shore personality Vicky Pattison, reports the Mirror.
Ross King remarked: “I just can’t believe it!”
“I was nervous, but this is another level,” EastEnders actor Balvinder Sopal confided to the cameras.
Going one step further, YouTuber George Clarke chuckled: “Is it too late to run away?”
Some viewers, however, remain unimpressed.
Writing on X, one commented: “I think it would’ve made more sense for it to be down to the public vote instead of a different judge each week but okay,” whilst another stated: “I was hoping it would be a ‘public vote if the judges are tied’ but nope.”
While fans are left guessing which judge will ‘hold the power’ in the event of a split vote during next week’s dance off, they already have their suspicions about who’ll be shown the door first.
Lorraine’s Ross King found himself at the bottom of the leaderboard, scoring a mere 10 overall for his Cha Cha Cha with partner Jowita Przystał.
Fans are convinced he’ll be the first to exit, with one commenting: “Ross King is giving first out energy,” and another noting: “Far too much standing about in Ross’s routine. Likely to be first out this year on this evidence..”
Adding insult to injury, BOYLE sports bookmakers dealt the TV presenter a significant blow earlier today, placing him at the very bottom of the leader board with odds of just 80/1 to lift the Glitterball Trophy.
