Lorraine Kelly has shared her thoughts on Thomas Skinner’s current Strictly Come Dancing controversy
Lorraine Kelly has weighed in on Thomas Skinner’s Strictly Come Dancing controversy, stating “he needs help”.
The former Apprentice contestant recently stormed out of the BBC dance show’s first press event, which was held ahead of the programme’s upcoming launch.
The 34-year-old abruptly left the event at Elstree Studios following a chat with journalists who were interviewing him and ex-Chelsea footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
According to Mail Online, Thomas took issue with being recorded and snatched a reporter’s phone, before exiting the interview.
A spokesperson for the broadcaster told the Mirror: “The BBC is very clear that any behaviour which falls below the standards expected will not be tolerated on our programmes,” reports Wales Online.

The Daily Star has reached out to Skinner and Strictly Come Dancing’s representatives for comment.
Despite the BBC appearing to issue a warning, Thomas will stay on the show and is slated to shoot the launch episode later today.
An insider informed the Mirror: “He’s expected to continue. It was a surprise turn of events yesterday but hopefully everything will return to normal today.”
Discussing the incident on her show on Wednesday (September 10), Lorraine Kelly remarked: “The drama gets people interested, doesn’t it? And then they watch the programme, to be cynical for a second.”
She went on to add: “He is a divisive figure. Maybe, hopefully, he needs a little bit of help to know and how to navigate the press and everything. And they do do that.”
The news comes after Thomas shared an upbeat update after his first full day of rehearsals earlier this week.
“I just had my first full day dancing with my dance partner for Strictly. Honestly had the best day, we did not stop laughing start to finish and I enjoyed the dancing more than I thought!” he posted on X (formerly Twitter).
“All the other cast and contestants was fantastic too… Can’t wait for you all to see me dancing. Honestly, I am properly enjoying it. Massively out of my comfort zone but trying my best!! Now it’s time for bath and bed….these two left feet have been burning up the dance floor!”
He subsequently added: “It is such a good experience and I’m fully surrendering to Strictly.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer later this month
