During their height of their fame in the 1990s, Oasis played to sell-out crowds of 250,000 over two nights in the grounds of the Grade II Knebworth House in Hertfordshire
Oasis are set to commemorate the 30th anniversary of their iconic 1996 performances at Knebworth with five spectacular shows at the same venue next summer.
The Gallagher brothers’ concerts at the Hertfordshire location became the defining moment of the Britpop movement when Oasis performed to packed audiences totalling 250,000 across two nights in August 1996. Following their triumphant global tour, the siblings now have provisional dates locked in at Knebworth for 2026, sources suggest.
Music industry insiders reveal the Gallaghers have raked in an estimated £1.2billion from their worldwide tour. The anniversary gigs at Knebworth could rake in a further £100million, experts believe.

One source revealed: “Talk about the chance to cash in. After all these years of insisting they won’t get back together, now Liam and Noel have got these dates on hold, they have pencilled in five days for the gigs.
“It’s all very exciting for fans. Back in 1996, it was so special. It was the pinnacle of Britpop so Oasis returning to Knebworth would just be perfect for the fans.”, reports the Mirror.
Over two per cent of the UK population scrambled for tickets when Oasis took to the stage at Knebworth in 1996, with both gigs selling out in under 24 hours. The band belted out classics including Don’t Look Back In Anger and Some Might Say, amongst other chart-toppers, during those two legendary performances.
These anthems, alongside later hits such as All Around the World and Go Let it Out, are anticipated to feature in the quintet of shows returning to Knebworth three decades later next summer. The insider revealed to Mail Online: “The plan is for five concerts in what will be a music extravaganza. First the fans got a reunion tour. Now it looks like that they will be able to relive those two performances at Knebworth.”
In 2022, Liam made his return to the Hertfordshire venue for two gigs, a year after a documentary film about the 1996 Knebworth concerts hit cinema screens.
Noel, 58, and Liam, 52, are presently touring across America. Over the weekend, they delivered two packed shows at the 90,000-capacity Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California, thrilling an audience that featured Sir Paul McCartney, Rita Ora and Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio.
These performances have fuelled rumours that Oasis might be preparing to create their first studio album in 17 years. The band’s official photographer Kevin Cummins, 72, suggested the prospects for an album looked encouraging, with Noel penning tracks whilst on tour and Liam’s confrontational “frontman ego” stepping aside.
The photographer continued: “I don’t see why they couldn’t get in the studio and record an album. Noel is writing songs all the time and Liam’s voice is well suited to what Noel writes.”
