I’m A Celebrity star Angry Ginge’s mum Michelle shared her emotional reaction to seeing her son struggle with homesickness as she travels to Australia
Angry Ginge’s mum has shared her heart breaking response to witnessing her son’s emotional turmoil on I’m A Celebrity.
The 24 year old content creator was clearly distressed during Monday (November 24) night’s instalment of the ITV show, admitting he was pining for home.
Prior to jetting off to Australia to support him from the famous bridge, Michelle, Angry Ginge’s mother, told The Sun: “I haven’t managed to watch the full episode yet as I’ve been travelling, but I saw a clip on TikTok. My heart absolutely sank, I started crying.
“It was so hard to see, because I know Morgan is such a strong person, so he must have been struggling a lot. I just can’t wait to give him the biggest hug on that bridge.”
We previously revealed how Ginge, whose actual name is Morgan Burtwistle, maintains an “unbreakable bond” with his single mum after enduring a difficult childhood with his father, reports the Express.
He grew tearful after confessing to yearning for home and messaging his mother – who brought up him and his sister on an annual salary of £12.5k.
His choice to enter I’m A Celeb is reportedly motivated by his mum, with whom he used to tune into the programme during his youth.
Ginge aspires to utilise any forthcoming prospects stemming from the hit ITV series to “repay” his mother for the hardships she endured whilst raising him.
“He might act like one of the lads but Ginge is a mummy’s boy at heart,” our source disclosed. “He puts her first and foremost in his life and feels he wants to repay her for all she sacrificed for him.
“His upbringing was turbulent and they had very little. For Ginge, appearing on I’m a Celeb offers a chance to give something back.”
Ginge became vulnerable during last night’s show, revealing: “It’s a bit of a sh*t day really, I just feel as though I’m missing home, missing speaking to my family, food and drink as well is a massive part but they say you have up days and down days.”
The star appeared visibly upset, covering his face with his hands whilst admitting: “I’m holding it in. I suppose it’s just one of my down days.”
Later during the programme, he became tearful once more, sharing his desperate need to contact his mum. “It’s just a long time to be away really,” he confessed.
“On the outside I have the option to just text my mum or whoever I want. Don’t get me wrong I know I’m going to see her in however many days, it’s just tough.”
