Anthony Diieso threw for 178 yards and three touchdowns in No. 3 St. Anthony’s 40-28 home win Friday over No. 6 Cardinal Hayes in the quarterfinals of the CHSFL AAA playoffs.
Rory McDermott caught six passes for 153 yards and a score. Xavier Bala rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries.
St. Anthony’s (7-4) will face No. 2 Iona Prep in the semifinals. Cardinal Hayes finished 1-8.
SATURDAY’S GAMES
Holy Trinity 27, Mount St. Michael 13: Ian Williams ran 10 times for 130 yards and two TDs, completed 13 of 21 pass attempts for 173 yards and two TDs and made six tackles with two interceptions for host No. 3 Holy Trinity in its CHSFL AA-II quarterfinal win over No. 6 Mount St. Michael.
Demarion Singhe ran 15 times for 75 yards and made five tackles. Marcus Abellard caught three passes for 57 yards and a TD. William Grafton caught two passes for 24 yards and a TD. Holy Trinity (7-2) will face No. 2 Xaverian at Aviator Center in the semifinal round. Mount St. Michael is 4-5.
St. Peter’s 14, St. John the Baptist 0: Maurice Scott completed 10 of 16 passes for 125 yards and an interception in No. 5 St. John the Baptist’s road loss to No. 4 St. Peter’s in the quarterfinals of the CHSFL AA-I playoffs. Kevin Peters caught four passes for 85 yards. Jordan Redding caught five passes for 31 yards.
NON-LEAGUE
Huron Heights (Ontario) 27, Long Island Lutheran 0: Xavier O’Brady had 51 yards on 12 carries for Long Island Lutheran (1-8) in a non-league matchup.
