Viewers were not happy as a favourite was made to leave the jungle
The latest campmate from this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here has been booted out, meaning they’ve missed the final by the narrowest of margins.
This group of famous faces have now been surviving in the Australian wilderness for approximately three weeks, but one participant was compelled to depart immediately in Saturday’s broadcast (December 6).
After the most recent instalment, the current series of the popular ITV reality programme revealed Celebrity’s Go Dating’s Tom Read Wilson, rapper Aitch, YouTuber Angry Ginge and EastEnders actress Shona McGarty as the remaining quartet.
Nevertheless, the viewing public have kept casting their votes for their preferred jungle dweller, and Ant and Dec announced the fresh results, revealing who had secured fourth position during the live broadcast. In the end, Aitch was informed he would be departing the camp, reports the Express.
This leaves Tom, Ginge and Shona to fight it out for this year’s jungle crown. As he bid farewell, Ginge remarked to his fellow campmates: “I knew it.”
Prior to the eviction, Saturday’s programme witnessed the surviving contestants tackle the legendary cyclone challenge.
Following the programme’s established custom, all famous participants donned superhero outfits complete with flowing capes. Ginge appeared in vivid orange, dubbing himself “the pumpkin”.
Aitch wore red, christening himself “the red hot chilli stepper”, whilst Tom donned blue as he called himself “the sapphire surfer”.
Shona, meanwhile, appeared in silver and was given the moniker “the silver songstress”. Eager to begin, Ant & Dec outlined what they’d encounter in “the world’s most expensive slip and slide”.
Their task was to position all four stars onto the designated markers and maintain them there until the trial concluded. Beginning on the rotating twister, they’d need to navigate out individually, responding to the fireball’s signal.
After his departure, Aitch was questioned by Ant and Dec moments after exiting the jungle. When asked if he felt disappointed to depart just one day before the final, he declared he was “actually buzzing.”
Viewers were swift to respond to the latest elimination and voice their opinions. Many were left reeling at the outcome as they had considered Aitch, whose real name is Harrison, amongst the frontrunners to claim victory in the entire competition. One astonished viewer posted on social media: “I was not expecting that, big shocker, Aitch was favourite to win.”
Another added: “NAH I ACTUALLY REFUSE TO BELIEVE HARRISON HAS GONE.” A third said: “Person that carried the whole series isn’t even in the final”.
Meanwhile someone else commented: “There goes my winner.” One person said: ” You have got to be kidding? ! Time to riot!”.
I’m A Celebrity concludes tomorrow at 9pm on ITV1, ITVX and STV.
