Brianna Lafferty, 33, has suffered from a rare and severe neurological disorder since she was a child and had all but given up hope of feeling better until she experienced a near death experience
A woman who was clinically dead for eight minutes has claimed that death is simply an illusion.
Brianna Lafferty, who battled a rare and severe neurological disorder, narrated how her soul “floated” above her body before transitioning into a timeless dimension. The 33 year old revealed that her physical body had already “given up” when she underwent this profound incident.
During this episode, Brianna heard a voice asking if she was ready to move on and found herself immersed in utter darkness. It was within this void that she realised that death is not the finality but an illusion, as the soul continues beyond our terrestrial existence.
She stated: “Death is an illusion because our soul never dies.”
Brianna discerned that consciousness endures and that we merely experience a metamorphosis. She noted that in the afterlife, thoughts materialise instantly, although time, non-existent there, is perceived as a blessing.
She said: “Our consciousness remains alive. And our very being only transforms. My thoughts instantly manifested into the afterlife. I noticed that our thoughts create a reality there – it just takes time – which is a blessing.
Leeds Live reports that the enlightenment she acquired enabled her to perceive life’s trials, including her illness and other adversities, with clarity and comprehension. She now believes that every event holds a purpose.
She declared: “We’re able to change our negativity into positivity, turning this into reality. I feel empowered and trust life’s events, especially the hard ones. Looking back, everything is so crystal clear as to why I suffered with illness and other tough struggles.”
Brianna now embraces life with profound appreciation, accepting both triumphs and tribulations with calm acceptance, whilst recognising the strength of her own mindset and feelings.
She explained: “There’s knowledge that everything does really happen for a reason, as I go with the flow and don’t get angry or upset when bad things happen.
“Also knowing that my thoughts and feelings are that powerful helps me live a gratitude filled life.”
Brianna, who battles myoclonus dystonia, a rare neurological condition causing unexpected muscle spasms and contractions, had tried every available treatment but remained unsure about her illness’s development and whether it could prove fatal.
After experiencing severe insomnia that left her virtually unable to sleep for more than four days, Brianna believed her time was running out. Yet, following eight minutes of clinical death, her outlook has been completely transformed.
Discussing her experience, she revealed: “I was suddenly separated from my physical body. I didn’t see or remember my human self. I was completely still, yet I felt fully alive, aware and more myself than ever before. There was no pain, just a deep sense of peace and clarity.
“I experienced the beginning of everything and learned that our universe is made up of a bunch of numbers. I met other beings that I’m not sure were human, but they felt familiar. It changed the course of my life – what I feared no longer had power over me and what I used to chase didn’t seem important anymore.
“I came back with a sense of mission and deep reverence for both life and death.”
Brianna remembers feeling as though she had been absent for months upon returning to her physical form. Following four days in hospital, she struggled to comprehend her extraordinary experience.
Throughout this time, she encountered the difficulty of readjusting not merely physically but spiritually too.
Now, having conquered her dread of mortality, she voices appreciation for her remarkable journey.
She had to relearn how to walk and talk and has suffered with lasting side effects and damage to her pituitary gland. Since her recovery has been so tough, she admits that she is scared of another near death experience.
